Dear Friends,

We wanted to take a moment to remember our dear friend Ernie — the kind of guy who made every room a little brighter and every day a little better just by being in it. Ernie was the ultimate family man. He adored his wife, Tonya, more than anything in this world, and it was so clear to anyone who saw them together how deep that love ran. He was all about his people — friends, family, coworkers — if you were in Ernie’s circle, you knew you were truly cared for.

He had a big love for the beach (especially Myrtle Beach), good times, and good company. Nothing made him happier than catching some sun with a cold beverage in hand, probably cracking a joke or two. He had this way of making everyone feel like family — always laughing, always celebrating, and always finding joy in the little things.

Ernie was also a huge part of our OVM family. He worked with us as a Branch Manager and Mortgage Loan Originator for over seven years, and in that time, he left a lasting mark. He was incredibly dedicated to his work, but even more so to the people around him. I will never forget the first time we reconnected and talked about getting the band back together and having Ernie at the helm to take our Roanoke Office to the next level. We talked about wok and plans for the future. More than anything we talked about family and caught up like we had been neighbors for years.

He fought cancer with incredible strength and courage, never losing his sense of humor or his love for life. He had the kind of personality that just pulled people in — full of laughter, full of love, and full of life. Ernie will always be part of our OVM family, and we’ll carry his memory with us in every laugh, every beach trip, and every story we share.

Hey Everyone,

We wanted to take a moment to remember Lucia, who was such a vibrant presence in our lives. Lucia had this thing for the sun and heat—she’d always joke that the hotter, the better (lol!). It was kind of funny for a northerner like her, but she loved those beach days with sand between her toes and a cold Ultra in hand 😉

But more than her love for sunny weather, Lucia had this incredible strength. Cancer never stood a chance against her positive attitude and determination. She was always upbeat, always finding a way to brighten your day. Lucia had the biggest heart—We swear, she would give her shirt off her back to anyone, whether she just met you or knew you forever.

In 2018, she blew us all away by becoming the top donor for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer awareness efforts. And remember when she got to share her story at the Pink in the Rink Admirals hockey game? She was absolutely thrilled about that Zamboni ride—it was classic Lucia, turning a tough battle into a celebration.

We really miss her, but let’s keep Lucia’s spirit alive by remembering her laughter, her kindness, and her incredible resilience. She taught us all so much about living life to the fullest.

Hey Team,

I wanted to share some awesome memories of Dianne, who was such a bright light in our lives. Dianne was a total Marvel & DC fan—The Hulk was her absolute favorite. She was all about having fun, whether it was hitting up concerts, comedy shows, or catching a movie with her fiancé every week—they were quite the duo! She also loved riding her motorcycle and living life to the fullest. Family meant everything to her, especially her daughter Kierra and her fiancé Shawn—they were her world. Dianne had this amazing mix of sarcasm, boldness, humor, and a down-to-earth vibe that always made everyone feel at ease. She could crack a joke and lift your spirits in a heartbeat. Even when she faced tough times with her cancer battle, Dianne showed incredible strength. She worked through treatments and kept that infectious smile on her face, never letting anything bring her down. Let’s remember Dianne for the laughter she brought into our lives and the way she embraced every moment with such positivity.
